Its mission is to bring together and assist all the stakeholders in the textile-clothing sector in the field of innovative textiles and customization thanks to proven economic, industrial, scientific, marketing and technological skills.
"UP-tex", acting as the network's promoter, works in close cooperation with all the scientific, technical and economic resources at a regional, national and international level. It encourages companies to participate in innovation and R&D projects aiming at creating new offers in products and services so as to conquer new markets.
This Pole was jointly established by the scientific community and industrialists working in the fields
of Biology/health and Agro-Food. It promotes, and contributes to, research partnerships in the
field of functional food, nutritional additives and foods to prevent diseases associated with
metabolic disorders and ageing (diabetes, obesity, hypertension...).

Set up in 2005, located in Villeneuve d’Ascq (in the North of France), the MAUD Competitiveness Cluster (Materials and Applications for a Sustainable Use) produces economic development through innovation in the fields of chemistry and materials.
The MAUD Cluster targets three key markets : tableware, graphic industries and packaging. It moves towards three innovation strategies : to develop new products, process and services, to improve material features, and to integrate Sustainable Development (according to the European Union regulation REACH).
To date the MAUD Cluster counts sixty members : companies (whose 45 % are small and medium-sized businesses), research laboratories and training centres.
