Textile
The Nord-Pas de Calais is the 2nd textile region in France with 20,000 jobs.
More than 50% of France's textile engineers come from ENSAIT and HEI, the textile schools located in Lille Metropole. Technical trainings are also offered at ESAAT.
Thanks to the labeling of the UP-tex Cluster, Lille and its region strengthen their position as a European leader for clothing and innovative textile.
Relying on a powerful network of industrialists belonging to CLUBTEX, Lille Metropole has all the characteristics of a perfect Cluster.

A CLUSTER: UP-tex
THe UP-tex cluster focuses on two major axes :
1- Innovative textiles
2- Customization in textile / clothing
The mission of the UP-tex association is as follows :
- To develop the project of 'customized enterprise' in order to create a new value chain in the textile / clothing field
- To promote, at a national and international level, the region's high performance Textile Pole, its economic fabric (through CLUBTEX) and its scientific competences
- To foster the emergence of a European technological platform through the establishment of the CETI (European Innovative Textile Center) on the site called L'Union
- To promote research projects through the labeling of the projects selected
- To develop innovation within textile / clothing companies
