RENOWNED HERITAGE AND CULTURE
The enormous success Lille achieved as European City of Culture in 2004, with 9 million visitors, led the city to organise every two years a new cultural event of international standing, called Lille3000. In 2006, Lille3000 chose India as its theme and this event attracted about 1 million participants. The 2008 event will be dedicated to Eastern Europe.
