Lille Métropole

A metropolis with a dynamic economy

A TOP-QUALITY HIGHER EDUCATION

The Lille school district ranks 2nd in France with over 100,000 students.

Top-ranking schools called 'Grandes écoles' (Centrale Lille, Science Po Lille…) and major Business Schools (EDHEC, ESC Lille, IESEG…) are well represented.

Unparalleled and specialist training schemes are offered by TELECOM Lille 1 (Engineering School for Telecommunications), by ISEN (Nord Higher Institute of Electronics), by IAE Lille (Company Management Institute with its Master's degree in direct marketing), by ESJ (Higher School of Journalism), at the Fresnoy National Studio…

The metropolitan area also houses international schools (EABJM), a bilingual / trilingual school and a Japanese school.

RENOWNED HERITAGE AND CULTURE

The enormous success Lille achieved as European City of Culture in 2004, with 9 million visitors, led the city to organise every two years a new cultural event of international standing, called Lille3000. In 2006, Lille3000 chose India as its theme and this event attracted about 1 million participants. The 2008 event will be dedicated to Eastern Europe. www.lille3000.com
